You can make knitting as your hobby because it really is great. You can create beautiful creations with it. You can learn it very easily and here are some tips:
Knitting stitches – here are the basics. You can start knitting by using plastic needles and yarn that are light weight. Begin with cast on knitting. Make a slip loop over your left needle then pass the right needle through the loop from the left yarn to the right. Slip it under then over the right needle drawing the yarn through the loop then transfer the loop to the left needle. Continue this process till you get the desired number of stitches on the left needle.
Before you start knitting your should learn the five basic stitches. These are knit two stitches, knit stitch, stockinette stitch, yarn over stitch, and purl stitch.
The basic knit stitch is the most common. First, you pass the right needle through the first stitch of your left needle. Then wind the yarn over two crossed needles over the right needle. Gently pull it through the loop. You then slip over the original stitch from your left to the right needle. Repeat this procedure until all the stitches are transferred from the left to the right needle.
If you want a twisted rib effect then just knit into the back of your knit stitch. To create a back stitch, insert the needle into the back of the stitch of your left needle.
The purl stitch is the second basic stitch. This will look like a brick face if viewed from the purl side. You need to first have a yarn in front of your needle. You need to insert the right needle to the first stitch of the left needle. You then wind the yarn around the back of the right needle from right to left. Allow the stitch to slip off left needle to the right after drawing the loop backward. Continue this until the stitches are all transferred from the left to the right needle.
The stockinette stitch is the third one. This is used for sweater and socks. It is simple and is a combination of two basic stitches namely the purl stitch and the knit stitch. You knit one row with knit stitch and purl stitch with another row. That is about it.
For you to knit two stitches together you just need to decrease a stitch. You can have two different stitches or you can have two purl stitches. For even stitches try decreasing the edges then knit the second and the third stitches together.
